Walt Disney World's 55th anniversary is almost here, and the celebration is kicking off in a big way. On October 1, 2026, Walt Disney World Resort President Joe Schott will deliver brief remarks at Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom Park at 8:50 a.m. to mark the occasion.

A 40-Year Disney Veteran Takes the Stage

Schott, who replaced Jeff Vahle as President of Walt Disney World Resort earlier this year, is no stranger to the magic of the parks. A 40-year veteran of The Walt Disney Company, he began his Disney career as a Jungle Cruise Skipper right here at Walt Disney World — making him a fitting voice to lead the resort's milestone celebration.

55th Anniversary Merchandise and Collectibles

If you're heading to the parks, there's plenty to commemorate the occasion beyond the morning remarks. The Walt Disney World 55th anniversary collection is available throughout the parks, featuring apparel, accessories, special edition pins, and a limited-edition Cinderella doll available at Magic Kingdom. A 55th anniversary MagicBand+ is also on sale both online and at Walt Disney World.
