That promotion included a meaningful perk for Walt Disney World hotel guests: eligible arrivals between May 26 and September 8, 2026 received admission to a Disney World water park on their check-in day, included with their resort stay.

The free water park benefit was available to registered overnight guests at eligible Disney Resorts Collection hotels during that window. It's reshaped how a lot of families approach their arrival day — checking in after a long travel morning and walking into a water park instead of racing to Magic Kingdom is a genuinely different start to a Disney vacation. More relaxed, and a natural way to let kids burn off arrival energy without spending a full theme park ticket on a half-day visit.

With both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach available simultaneously this summer, the water park choice on arrival day carried real weight. The two parks are not interchangeable experiences.

What Makes Each Park Different

Typhoon Lagoon leans tropical, beachy, and dramatic. The park is themed around a fishing village devastated by a typhoon, complete with a grounded boat at the top of its signature mountain. Its wave pool is one of the most iconic features at any Disney water park anywhere — genuinely impressive in scale. The ride lineup includes slides, water coasters, and attraction experiences that appeal across age ranges.

Blizzard Beach is a completely different kind of experience. The premise — a melted ski resort in central Florida — is exactly the kind of concept only Disney would commit to fully, and the theming throughout the park reflects it. Summit Plummet, one of the tallest and fastest free-fall water slides in the world, is the signature attraction. The overall energy is sillier and more uniquely Disney in a way that doesn't map onto any other water park.
