After more than a year away, it looks like Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Crystal Skull may finally be gearing up for its return to Tokyo DisneySea — and fans have a tantalizing teaser to prove it.
A Quick Look at Indiana Jones Attractions Worldwide
Disney operates three Indiana Jones rides around the globe. Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea each feature indoor, vehicle-based adventures, while Disneyland Paris offers an outdoor roller coaster inspired by an archaeological dig site. A fourth attraction is also in development: at Disney's Animal Kingdom, Indiana Jones will replace DINOSAUR as part of the park's Tropical Americas expansion, with the new ride expected to open in 2027.
The Closure That's Had Fans Waiting
Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Crystal Skull has been closed at Tokyo DisneySea since August 18, 2025. Nearly a year on, Tokyo Disney Resort had still not announced a reopening date — and the resort had not explained the reason for the extended closure or confirmed whether the attraction was receiving any updates. Guests were left with little indication of when, or even if, the beloved ride would return.
The absence has been keenly felt. The attraction typically ranks among Tokyo DisneySea's most popular, alongside Journey to the Center of the Earth, Tower of Terror, Soaring: Fantastic Flight, and Anna and Elsa's Frozen Journey. Tokyo DisneySea is known for drawing heavy crowds, with wait times for major attractions regularly climbing well beyond an hour — making the prolonged loss of Indiana Jones all the more noticeable.
"Everyone, Are You Ready?"
That may finally be about to change. Tokyo Disney Resort's social media accounts shared a new teaser on August 3, 2026, featuring a mysterious image and the message:
Everyone, are you ready?
Let's meet again!
While the resort stopped short of a formal reopening announcement, the teaser strongly suggests that some kind of return is imminent for the fan-favorite attraction.
More Clues Pointing Toward a Comeback
Adding further weight to the speculation, the Oriental Land Company recently listed Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Crystal Skull among the attractions eligible for Disney Premier Access in its Q1 FY2027 earnings materials. Though not an official reopening confirmation, it signals that the attraction remains very much part of Tokyo DisneySea's plans.
There's also a chance the ride's return could coincide with the upcoming permanent closure of Aquatopia, which will make way for an as-yet-undisclosed new attraction at the park.
