After an entire summer without their regular fireworks, Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea are nearly ready to light up the sky again — and the countdown is officially on.

Nighttime spectaculars have long been a cornerstone of the Disney park experience, making this unusually long absence especially noticeable for guests visiting the resort this season.

Three Months of Dark Skies — Almost Over

Since June 15, guests at both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea have gone without the resort's regular fireworks show. Tokyo Disney Resort routinely suspends fireworks during the warmer summer months, though the resort's operator, The Oriental Land Company, has never publicly attributed the hiatus to a specific reason.

That three-month break is now nearly over. Sky Full of Colors is officially scheduled to return on September 15 — just over a week away at the time of writing.

There is, however, a catch.

The seasonal show pairs fireworks with Halloween-themed music and has become a regular fixture of the resort's autumn entertainment lineup.

That makes September 15 a rare one-night window — a brief homecoming for Sky Full of Colors sandwiched between its summer hiatus and its Halloween replacement.

A Permanent Goodbye to Reach for the Stars

The fireworks return also arrives alongside a more bittersweet change to Tokyo Disneyland's nighttime lineup.

One day before Sky Full of Colors comes back, Reach for the Stars will give its final performance at Tokyo Disneyland on September 14, ending a run that began in September 2024. The Cinderella Castle projection show was described by the resort as
