The countdown is nearly over for one of Tokyo Disneyland's newer nighttime spectaculars. Reach for the Stars will give its final performance on Monday, September 14, 2026 — ending its run just six days before what would have been its second anniversary.
Nighttime entertainment is a cornerstone of the Disney park experience. From Happily Ever After transforming Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World with projections and fireworks, to shows featuring fountains, lasers, drones, and pyrotechnics at other resorts around the world, Disney's after-dark lineup is always evolving. Shows come and go for seasonal replacements, refurbishments, or permanent changes — and now, Reach for the Stars has reached its final weekend.
Disney Confirms September 14 as the Final Performance
Tokyo Disney Resort's official schedule lists performances of Reach for the Stars at 7:15 p.m. on September 12, 13, and 14, with no showtimes listed from September 15 onward. Disney has explicitly stated that the show "will no longer be presented after September 14, 2026."
First launched on September 20, 2024, Reach for the Stars combined projection mapping with lighting, pyrotechnics, and other effects in an approximately 20-minute production centered on Disney characters pursuing their dreams. However, the show struggled to generate much positive buzz with Tokyo Disney Resort regulars when it first premiered.
Its character lineup spanned Disney and Pixar, featuring Tinker Bell, Hercules, Dumbo, Mary Poppins, Carl Fredricksen, Aladdin and Jasmine, WALL-E, EVE, Baymax, and characters from Toy Story. The production also marked a milestone for Marvel at Tokyo Disney Resort — Iron Man and Captain Marvel appeared during the spectacular, making it the first time Marvel characters featured in an entertainment program at the resort.
A Special Farewell Edition: Reach for the Stars: Everlasting Dreams
For its final summer, Disney expanded the show into Reach for the Stars: Everlasting Dreams. This limited version has been running since July 2 and clocks in at approximately 25 minutes — five minutes longer than the original production.
The farewell edition adds an epilogue following the main show, complete with additional projections and a new song called "Forever Dreams." Disney also incorporated drones into the finale, forming images inspired by Winnie the Pooh, Dumbo, Tangled, and Toy Story.
That means guests visiting this weekend aren't simply catching the original show before it disappears — they're experiencing an expanded version created specifically for its final months. Once the September 14 performance concludes, the Cinderella Castle production is gone for good.
What's Next for Tokyo Disneyland's Nighttime Schedule
The end of Reach for the Stars doesn't leave Tokyo Disneyland without nighttime entertainment. The Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade Dreamlights remains on the schedule — on September 14 itself, Disney lists the parade for 8:25 p.m., following the final Reach for the Stars: Everlasting Dreams performance at 7:15 p.m.
The resort is also moving into its Halloween season. Night High Halloween — a park-wide fireworks presentation lasting approximately five minutes, accompanied by Halloween music — is officially listed from September 16 through October 31 at both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. Interestingly, Tokyo Disneyland's September 15 schedule already lists Night High Halloween for 8:50 p.m., one day before the Halloween event officially begins.
From September 16, the nighttime schedule lists Electrical Parade Dreamlights at 7:35 p.m. and Night High Halloween at 8:50 p.m.
It's worth noting that Night High Halloween is not a direct replacement for Reach for the Stars. Unlike the departing production, it is not a full Cinderella Castle projection spectacular and can be viewed from multiple locations across the park.
Meanwhile, the regular fireworks show Sky Full of Colors has been on a three-month hiatus over the summer and will remain unavailable throughout the Halloween season. Disney lists it as temporarily suspended from June 15 through October 31, with additional closure dates later in the year as the resort moves into its holiday celebrations.
