If you've been keeping an eye on the Hollywood Tower Hotel lately, you may have noticed some changes to its famously eerie exterior. Less than a week after scaffolding was first spotted on the far right side of the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror facade at Disney's Hollywood Studios, even more construction equipment has appeared around the iconic building.

A Refurbishment That's Been Building for a While

This unannounced project didn't appear out of nowhere. Back in May, Walt Disney World Resort refurbished elements of the Tower of Terror queue. Shortly after, some decorative flags came down from the exit of the Tower Hotel Gifts merchandise location inside the building, and scrim began blocking portions of the facade near the gift shop.

Then, last week, scaffolding showed up on the far right side of the Hollywood Tower Hotel facade — all while the attraction continued to operate normally for guests.

Even More Equipment Arrives

On July 7, additional scaffolding was reported on the facade, this time installed by Disney cast members in the top center section of the building, directly above the Tower Hotel Gifts shop. Despite the growing presence of construction equipment, no active construction work had been observed in the area at that time.
