Exciting new details have arrived for Space Mountain Earthrise at Tokyo Disneyland! Ride vehicles, scale models, and fresh concept art have all been revealed, giving us a closer look at what promises to be a truly spectacular new attraction.

What Is Space Mountain Earthrise?

Space Mountain Earthrise is a brand-new indoor roller coaster that sends guests on a journey through outer space. Featuring all-new architecture and a newly developed ride system, the attraction blends imaginative storytelling with immersive theatrical effects inspired by the wonders of space. The adventure kicks off with a powerful launch from Earth, hurtling guests deep into the cosmos with special light and sound effects inspired by various space phenomena.

A Look at the Scale Models

First up is a scale model of the plaza main icon. Situated in the heart of Tomorrowland, this area is described as a symbolic portrayal of mankind and nature existing in harmony — a space that connects the Tomorrowland of the past and the future.

Next, the model of the attraction's exterior showcases curved features designed after the movements of celestial bodies and forms found in nature, such as trees and flowers — a beautiful expression of the connection between space and nature.

First Look at the Ride Vehicles

Thanks to a maquette on display, we now have our first look at the ride vehicles. Each vehicle seats four guests — two in the first row and two in the second row. In a first for roller coasters at Tokyo Disney Resort, the vehicles will also be equipped with an onboard audio system.

Loading Area Concept Art

New concept art detailing the loading area was also shared, revealing a striking ceiling featuring a large chandelier-type lighting fixture alongside pillars of lights throughout the space.

Part of a Bold Tomorrowland Reimagining

Space Mountain Earthrise is the signature attraction of a sweeping reimagining of Tomorrowland at Tokyo Disneyland, representing a sizable investment of ¥100 billion. The entire refurbished and expanded area is set to open in 2027.

While Space Mountain Earthrise will retain the previous attraction's concept as an indoor coaster, it will be completely transformed. A fixture at Tokyo Disneyland since the park first opened, Space Mountain will return with various enhancements, a new story, and rich, dynamic show elements designed to take guests on an even more thrilling and captivating journey through outer space.
