If you were planning to grab a Chili Cone Queso or a fresh churro during your visit to Cars Land at Disney California Adventure Park, you may have been in for a surprise. On Thursday, guests arrived to find three of the five iconic cone-shaped dining stands at the Cozy Cone Motel closed for refurbishment — with no mention of the closures on Disneyland Resort's official website.

Which Cones Are Closed?

According to WDWNT, which reported on the closures on July 9, the following three stands are affected:

  • Cozy Cone Motel One (Churros) — closed effective July 9
  • Cozy Cone Motel Three (Chili Cone Queso) — closed effective July 8
  • Cozy Cone Motel Four (Frozen Cone-Coctions) — closed effective July 9

All three are expected to remain closed through July 10. WDWNT shared a photo on social media showing the Chili Cone Queso stand with its interior shutters down.

What About the Other Two Cones?

Cozy Cone Motel Two (Ice Cream Cones) and Cozy Cone Motel Five (Popcone) also closed earlier in the week for refurbishment, but have since reopened. In addition to their regular menus, these two open stands are currently serving select items from the closed locations — including the beloved Bacon Mac & Cheese Cone and the Chili Cone Queso — so guests aren't completely out of luck.

Why Are They Closed?

Disney cast members reportedly told WDWNT that the floors inside each Cozy Cone Motel location are being redone, which accounts for the short refurbishment windows. The quick turnaround on the first two cones supports that explanation.

What is a little unusual, however, is the lack of any official communication from Disneyland Resort. While the park doesn't typically issue statements on minor maintenance work, it does generally post temporary closure notices when dining locations shut down due to construction. In this case, the Cozy Cone Motel's official page makes no mention of the refurbishment or any closures.

Disneyland Resort has not publicly commented on the situation. If you're heading to Cars Land soon, it's worth checking ahead — and knowing that the two open cones are doing their best to keep the snacks flowing in the meantime!
