Good news for guests with late-summer Disneyland plans — the upcoming temporary closure of the Plaza Inn character breakfast has been pushed back by one week from what was originally reported.

What's Changing at Plaza Inn?

Nestled on Main Street, U.S.A. at Disneyland Park, Plaza Inn is a beloved dining spot that serves American-style lunch and dinner, along with a popular Character Dining experience at breakfast. That character breakfast will soon be taking a short break.

While earlier reports indicated the closure would begin on August 10, 2026, the Disneyland website has since been updated with a new start date. According to the updated listing:

"The Character Dining experience at Plaza Inn will be temporarily unavailable starting August 17, 2026, and is expected to return in late September."

At the time of writing, the expected return date in late September has not changed — only the start of the closure has shifted.

Construction Activity Nearby

The closure news comes alongside some recent exterior work at the restaurant. Last month, construction scrim was installed around the back corner of Plaza Inn, and a tree that had previously fallen was also replaced outside the restaurant.
