If you're a Disney World fan who doesn't always plan 60 days in advance — or who has lost the dining reservation battle one too many times — this news might be music to your ears. It looks like walk-up lists could be on the way to two popular reservation-only spots: The Beak and Barrel at Magic Kingdom and GEO-82 at EPCOT.
What We Spotted in the My Disney Experience App
While browsing the My Disney Experience app, a Join Walk-Up List button appeared on the listing for The Beak and Barrel, the Pirates of the Caribbean-themed bar at Magic Kingdom that has been reservation-only since it opened last year. The same button also showed up for GEO-82, the lounge located inside Spaceship Earth at EPCOT.
When the button was tapped for either location, an error message appeared — but this doesn't appear to be a simple glitch. The Walk-Up List option is visible on both the individual venue pages and the general Walk-Up List page within the app. It's possible the spots were simply fully booked on that particular day. Additionally, the official Disney World website also lists a walk-up list as available for GEO-82.
Important Update
Update: As of the morning of July 10th, the walk-up waitlist option has been removed from the app for both GEO-82 and The Beak and Barrel. We'll continue to keep an eye on any further changes.
What This Could Mean for Guests
While Disney has not officially announced when — or whether — walk-up lists will formally launch at these two venues, the appearance of the feature in the app and on the Disney World website suggests it could be coming soon. For guests who love the idea of spontaneously popping into a themed bar without a reservation locked in weeks ahead of time, this would be a welcome change.
We'll keep watching for any official word and update you as soon as more information becomes available!
