For nearly 30 years, JellyRolls held a special place at Walt Disney World. No characters, no IP, no photo ops — just two pianos, two performers, and a room full of adults having the time of their lives. It was loud, chaotic, and beloved, and it built a loyal following that treated it as a must-do on every trip.
The dueling piano bar closed in the spring of 2025 after almost three decades on the west end of Disney's BoardWalk. The good news for longtime fans is that JellyRolls isn't gone entirely — plans have been announced to reopen it at a new location in Lake Buena Vista outside Walt Disney World. But the BoardWalk space it left behind sat empty, and the west end of the entertainment district lost its live music anchor.
That changes later this year. Disney has now revealed what's moving in — and based on what's been shared, the new venue addresses one real weakness JellyRolls always had.
Introducing Hurly-Burly
Hurly-Burly is a new waterfront lounge coming to Disney's BoardWalk, themed to a historic seaside theatre. Disney has designed it to operate as two very different experiences depending on the time of day.
During the afternoon, Hurly-Burly will welcome families with trivia and games — a meaningful shift from the JellyRolls model, which was a nighttime-only venue. After dark, it becomes a live music lounge exclusive to guests ages 21 and up, serving coastal-inspired cocktails and light bites alongside a rotating lineup of live music.
Hurly-Burly is set to open in late 2026. Crews have already been transforming the exterior of the former JellyRolls space, with an awning installed and interior work underway.
The Food Is the Real Upgrade
Here's the thing JellyRolls never had: food. For all the affection guests had for that room, it was a bar in the most literal sense. You went for the music and the drinks, and if you wanted dinner, you sorted that out somewhere else beforehand. On a BoardWalk that has lost several dining options in recent years, that was a genuine limitation.
Disney has now released the list of food and beverage items coming to Hurly-Burly. Pricing for specific menu items has not yet been announced, but the fact that the venue is serving food at all is a real upgrade over what it replaces. Light bites paired with coastal-inspired cocktails means guests can actually spend a full evening there rather than building the night around a meal somewhere else first.

What the BoardWalk Has Lost — and Is Getting Back
A little context helps explain why Hurly-Burly's arrival carries real weight. Disney's BoardWalk entertainment district has taken repeated hits in recent years. ESPN Club closed. Big River Grille and Brewing Works closed. JellyRolls closed. That's three longtime venues gone from a relatively compact stretch of waterfront.
Newer arrivals have filled some of that space — The Cake Bake Shop opened, though it has proven divisive amid complaints about pricing and multiple employee lawsuits alleging wage theft, and Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs also joined the lineup. But the west end specifically lost its live entertainment anchor when JellyRolls went dark, and nothing replaced it for well over a year. Hurly-Burly restores that.
Why the Dual-Purpose Model Makes Sense
The afternoon-and-evening split is the part of this concept worth watching. JellyRolls generated revenue for a handful of hours each night. Hurly-Burly is designed to be useful for much of the day — families welcome during daylight hours, a 21-and-up crowd taking over after dark.
That's a practical answer to a real challenge at the BoardWalk. The district is always busiest in the evening, with plenty of quiet space during the day when guests are in the parks or by the pool. Trivia and games in a themed, air-conditioned room give resort guests a reason to stop in during the afternoon — a category the BoardWalk has genuinely lacked.
What Else Is Coming to the BoardWalk
Hurly-Burly is part of a broader wave of changes rolling out beginning in late 2026. A new Basin store is also coming to the BoardWalk — the retailer already operates a location in the Marketplace at Disney Springs and will offer soaps, bath bombs, body butters, bath salts, and other bath-and-body products. The BoardWalk location will also include interactive experiences, including custom bath teas, soap-making, and a soap embossing press. Disney has said the store is designed to reflect the BoardWalk's vintage seaside atmosphere.
Disney has also teased a new quick-service restaurant planned for the BoardWalk, with details expected separately. Taken together, that's a lounge, a retail location, and a quick-service restaurant arriving in roughly the same window. After several years of closures without replacements, the BoardWalk is finally filling back in.
What to Expect Next
Hurly-Burly opens in late 2026. Full menus, pricing, and an exact opening date have not yet been announced. For JellyRolls loyalists, it's worth being honest: this isn't a replacement in spirit. Dueling pianos are a specific thing, and a rotating live music lineup in a seaside theatre lounge is something else entirely. But the space is coming back to life, live music is returning to the west end of the BoardWalk — and this time, there's food.
