Construction on Pueblo Esperanza, the new Tropical Americas-themed land coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom, is well underway — and the excitement just got a little louder. The new land is expected to open sometime in 2027 and will feature a brand-new Encanto ride, among other attractions. Now, one of the film's voice actors has dropped a tantalizing hint that something Encanto-related may be in the works.
Dolores Has Something to Say
Adassa, who voiced the beloved Dolores in Encanto, recently took to Instagram to tease that she was heading back to the recording studio for a new Encanto project. She didn't confirm exactly what the project is for, and when fans asked whether it was connected to the Animal Kingdom ride, she suggested everyone would simply have to wait and see.
The Imagineering Connection
Here's where things get interesting: one of the biggest clues in her video is that she appears to be recording with Walt Disney Imagineering — the very team overseeing the Encanto ride project at Animal Kingdom. That's a pretty significant detail. It would also make sense for Disney to bring back the original voice cast from the film to record for a new attraction, so the dots are certainly there to connect — even if nothing has been officially confirmed just yet.
As exciting as this is, it's important to note that this has not been confirmed. What we can say is that something is clearly happening in the Encanto universe, and we're here for it.
What Else Is Coming to Pueblo Esperanza?
The Encanto ride isn't the only thing to look forward to in the new land. Pueblo Esperanza will also include:
- A Disney animal-themed carousel
- A brand-new Indiana Jones ride, being built over the former Dinosaur attraction in what was DinoLand, U.S.A., which shut down to make way for the Tropical Americas-themed land
There's a lot to be excited about as Pueblo Esperanza takes shape, and we'll be keeping a close eye on all the latest updates. Stay tuned!
