Adventurers, take note: as of September 8, Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Forbidden Eye at Disneyland Resort is officially closed for refurbishment. Here's everything you need to know before your next visit to the Happiest Place on Earth.
Indiana Jones Adventure Is Now Closed
Disneyland Resort announced the closure back in late July, confirming that the iconic Adventureland attraction would go offline on September 8, 2026. The park has been steadily revitalizing the ride over the past several years — highlights include the return of the boulder scene, the restoration of a mid-ride bridge effect that had long been out of commission (completed by Walt Disney Imagineers in January 2026), and a refresh of props at the attraction exit. In 2025, the beloved preshow also made its return after a five-year absence.
Disneyland Resort's official website currently encourages guests to "check back" for updates. The park's operational calendar runs through October 20, and no hours are listed for Indiana Jones Adventure through that date.
What the Closure Looks Like on the Ground
WDW News Today shared a photo on Facebook showing the shuttered attraction, where signs on the wooden fence blocking the entrance read: "Attention! Not Offering Tours Today" and "Coming Soon! Temple Tours Will Begin Again This Fall."
Another sign at the entrance leans into the attraction's in-world storytelling with a charming in-character message:
"Coming soon! Join me on a most splendid tour of the Temple of the Forbidden Eye, with an opportunity to partake in the Fabled Blessings of Mara: eternal youth, great wealth, or a glimpse into the future. What could be more delightful? Tours begin in Fall of 1935!
– Sallah El-Kahir"
When Will Indiana Jones Adventure Reopen?
Disneyland Resort has not announced a specific reopening date beyond the signage indicating a return "this fall." We'll be keeping a close eye on any updates, so stay tuned to Disney Daily for the latest news on this and other happenings across Disney parks!
