Good news for fans of Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace — we finally have some idea of when this popular snack spot will be back at Disney's Polynesian Resort!
It's been a few months since the Tiki Terrace closed its doors, leaving DOLE Whip lovers without their go-to window. For a while, there was no word at all on a return timeline. Now, we have our first official clue.
What We Know About the Closure
Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace is closed due to refurbishment work at the Grand Ceremonial House, and that work is expected to continue through late October. That means we likely won't see the Tiki Terrace back until close to the end of the year — right around the tail end of Disney World's spooky season.
It's worth noting that while this is the first official word on a timeline, there is still no official reopening date or operating hours listed on Disney's calendar. So while it's encouraging to have a general window, we're not quite at a confirmed date just yet.
Still Thirsty? Trader Sam's Grog Grotto Is Open
If you're visiting the Polynesian Resort and need a drink in the meantime, you're in luck! Trader Sam's Grog Grotto — the indoor bar connected to the Tiki Terrace — is still open and operating.
Broader Refurbishment Work at the Polynesian
The Tiki Terrace closure is just one piece of a larger construction picture at Disney's Polynesian Resort. From now through late 2026, portions of both Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows are undergoing refurbishment. This work includes the reconfiguration of the front entrance roadway.
- Some views of the theme parks and surrounding areas may be impacted.
- The overall aesthetic of the resort may look a little different during this time.
- Most resort dining, pools, and amenities will remain available throughout the work.
We'll be keeping a close eye on Disney's calendar for an official reopening date for Tiki Terrace. Stay tuned to Disney Daily for the latest updates!
