Frozen 3 doesn't arrive in theaters until November 2027. That's thirteen months away, which makes what Disney is doing right now worth a closer look than a typical merchandise announcement. Most animated sequels get their marketing push six to nine months out — trailers, tie-in products, a fast-food cup. Disney is starting this one more than a year ahead, and it's starting with story rather than product.
Frozen Fan Fest has returned, and the headline item is not a doll. It's a new animated short that moves Anna's story forward.
The Night Before the Royal Fitting
Disney is debuting a new Disney Off the Page Adventures story this month on Disney Kids YouTube. The Night Before the Royal Fitting is presented in storybook-style animation and follows Anna after her engagement as she and Elsa prepare for a special occasion in Arendelle.
That description is doing more than it looks like. Anna's engagement is a plot point, not just a setting. A short that picks up after it — with Anna and Elsa preparing for what sounds very much like a wedding — places itself in the gap between Frozen II and Frozen 3 and touches on something fans have been speculating about for years.
Disney has not labeled the short as canon or positioned it as a formal bridge to the third film. But for a fandom that tracks this timeline closely, a free short that engages with Anna's engagement is considerably more newsworthy than another Elsa doll. That's the thing to watch this month.
What This Means for U.S. Park Fans
Here's the part the announcement doesn't address directly — and it's what most readers will want to know. The Frozen Fan Fest parks component is at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort and Disneyland Paris, both of which have World of Frozen lands.
Hong Kong Disneyland is receiving exclusive mini music boxes. Both resorts are offering mini figurines. Disneyland Paris is tying the event into its Snowflake Festival with exclusive merchandise. Both parks also have postcards with designs unique to each destination — and you can mail them from mailboxes located inside World of Frozen itself, which is a genuinely charming detail.
Nothing has been announced for Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resort. That's not surprising, since neither has a World of Frozen, but it does mean the parks side of Fan Fest is effectively an international offering this time around.
Worth noting for anyone watching: the primary Frozen attraction in the United States is Frozen Ever After in EPCOT's Norway Pavilion, and Disney recently filed a construction permit for that pavilion's main building. The filing names no attraction and Disney has explained nothing about it, so connecting the two would be pure speculation. But with a third film thirteen months out, the Norway Pavilion is the obvious place any domestic Frozen activity would eventually land.
The Merchandise Wave
If you have a kid in the Frozen phase — or you are the one in the Frozen phase — the product list is long.
Tied directly to the new short is the Disney Frozen Slumber Sister Set from Mattel, featuring Anna, Elsa, Olaf, and fourteen bedtime-inspired accessories. Other highlights include:
- The Singing
