No two days at Disney's Animal Kingdom are ever quite the same — and that's largely thanks to the incredible animals that call the park home. From Kilimanjaro Safaris to the many animal encounters scattered throughout the park, there's always something new to discover. And now, there's one more reason to visit: a brand-new gorilla has arrived!

Meet Bakari, Animal Kingdom's Newest Resident

Head over to the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail on your next visit and keep an eye out for a new face in the troop. That face belongs to Bakari, a 21-year-old silverback western lowland gorilla who has officially settled into his new home at Animal Kingdom.

Bakari's arrival is both exciting and bittersweet. For nearly 30 years, a gorilla named Gino served as the leader of Animal Kingdom's gorilla troop. Sadly, Gino passed away last year, leaving the group without a leader. Bakari has now stepped in to fill that important role.
