If you've been eyeing a new pair of Mickey or Minnie Mouse ear headbands from the Disney Store, you'll want to take note of a recent price change. In late September, the official online Disney merchandise shop quietly raised the price on one of its most popular accessories — and the increase appears to be permanent.

What Changed?

Before the price adjustment, most standard ear headbands on the Disney Store website were listed at $36.99. Now, nearly all of the Mickey and Minnie Mouse-inspired headbands have moved up to $38.99. That increase also applies to non-mouse-style ears — including the fan-favorite Bluey and Bingo plush ear headbands, inspired by the Australian television series that now has entertainment offerings at Disneyland Park and Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park.

Not every headband lands at that $38.99 price point, though. More elaborate styles or brand collaborations can cost even more. For example, the Minnie Mouse Halloween Ear Headband for Adults by BaubleBar is currently listed at $44.99.

Any Deals to Be Found?

Bargain hunters aren't entirely out of luck. A handful of select sale styles are currently available at a discount — while supplies last. Right now, shoppers can find the Maleficent Ear Headband inspired by Sleeping Beauty (1959) and the Zero Headband inspired by Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993), both marked down to $29.59.

Could the Parks Be Next?

Seasoned Disney fans know that annual price increases at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort are practically a tradition — typically rolling out each October across souvenirs, food, and beverages throughout the theme parks, hotels, and shopping districts. The Disney Store's late-September adjustment suggests that similar increases at the parks themselves may not be far behind. As has been the case for several years, Disney typically does not announce these price changes far in advance.
