The Disney Parks Blog team made the journey from California to Paramus, New Jersey, where the newest Disney Store Limited Time location has officially opened its doors at Westfield Garden State Plaza. In collaboration with Go! Retail Group, this immersive retail experience gives guests the chance to shop for their favorite Disney products — and maybe discover a few new treasures along the way — all within a space that feels truly transformed by the magic of Disney.

For many of us, our very first Disney encounter came in the form of a product — a Mickey Mouse plush, a Disney Princess doll, or some other beloved toy that opened the door to unforgettable characters and worlds. The Doors Are Open
Fans eagerly lined up for their opportunity to shop and were greeted with commemorative giveaways — including a special postcard, stickers, and paper headbands — before even stepping inside. Lots of shoppers arrived already donning Disney Store merchandise, chatting excitedly about what they were most eager to add to their collections and closets.
A fan-favorite tradition continued here at the Westfield Garden State Plaza: the opening ceremony. Each morning, one lucky guest is chosen to "unlock" the store with a larger-than-life ceremonial key — a uniquely Disney way to start the day and a sweet memory for the selected shopper.
The Disney Store team set the tone perfectly: "Today we are not just opening a store, we're opening a door to imagination." It was clear from the crowd that turned out that there is immense excitement to discover, play, and create new memories in this space.

Exploring the Store
Before you even step inside, the eye-catching exterior sets the mood beautifully. There's a bright Garden State "mural" on one side, with select New Jersey symbols on the other — both are a great photo opportunity. You'll also spot multi-dimensional window displays featuring Spider-Man swinging into the scene (from basically right across the way in Queens) and a sweet 100th anniversary Pooh Bear with his pals and pot of hunny.
Upon entering the 2,300 square feet of retail space, the store immediately feels colorful, whimsical, and transportive. A vibrant New Jersey art piece welcomes you as soon as you walk in, showing Mickey & Friends in casual streetwear playing some tunes, alongside the signature plush tower. Character portraits featuring Princess Jasmine, Olaf, Winnie the Pooh, Super Heroes, and more familiar faces adorn the walls, with sparkling motifs and other dazzling design elements. Look up and around and you'll notice characters blending seamlessly into the gradient — it's a fun exercise to count how many you can spot!
One portion of the store is covered in old school diner-inspired graphics that feel right at home in Jersey, complete with a neon sign for fresh bagels and a marker for Highway 17. Keep an eye out for a charming Easter egg that locals will appreciate: violets, the state flower, tucked into the trim of the artwork in this area.
Something especially special about this store are the "magic mirrors," which show characters dropping in from their worlds in a way that feels dynamic and almost interactive. You may see Chip 'n' Dale popping up to wave hello in the diner window, or the Mistress of All Evil, Maleficent, strolling menacingly past a door.
