Witches, wizards, and Muggle fans alike, it's time to pack your trunks — Back to Hogwarts is returning to both Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood this season. This year's celebration also marks a special milestone: the 25th anniversary of the first Harry Potter film.
Universal Orlando Resort
Running August 1 through September 1, Back to Hogwarts at Universal Orlando Resort brings extra magic to the resort's Harry Potter-themed areas in honor of the back-to-school season. Here's what guests can look forward to:
- Hogwarts Always: A nighttime spectacular projected against Hogwarts Castle.
- Meet and greet: Catch up with the Hogwarts Express train conductor, who has special school year advice to share.
- 25th Anniversary Butterbeer Mug: Celebrate the milestone with a commemorative mug.
- Wizarding World of Harry Potter x Build-a-Bag from Lug: Pick up this limited-time collaborative bag while supplies last.
Universal Studios Hollywood
Also running August 1 through September 1, Back to Hogwarts comes to Universal Studios Hollywood with its own set of park-exclusive, limited-time treats and merchandise:
- Wizarding World of Harry Potter x Build-a-Bag from Lug: The same limited-time bag is available here as well.
- Complimentary Hogwarts House Sticker: Show off your house pride with a free sticker, available at Filch's Emporium of Confiscated Goods. Note that these are limited to one per guest.
- Hogwarts House Linzer Cookie: These sweet treats come in four flavors — raspberry, sour apple, blueberry, and lemon curd — each corresponding to a different Hogwarts house. Gryffindor's flavor will be available for the entire event, while the other three houses will rotate.
- The Monster Book of Monsters: On select dates, guests can encounter Hagrid's ancient book and — if they dare — pet its spine.
At both parks, all the usual Harry Potter-themed area offerings remain available throughout the event. Best of all, no additional admission beyond a standard daytime ticket is required to participate.
