Aerial photographer bioreconstruct has shared a fascinating look at the annual refurbishment currently underway at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon water park — and the photos are quite something to see!

A Rare Look Inside the Refurbishment

The aerial images spotlight the park's famous Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool — that massive wave pool guests love — completely drained of water, along with the surrounding lazy river. Panels running across the empty pool floor serve as protective covers, allowing construction vehicles to move through without damaging the surface beneath.

At the deep end of the pool, near the dam structure where waves are generated, crews have set up paneling and scaffolding. Crews are likely repainting and otherwise renovating the dam during this downtime.

Typhoon Lagoon's Annual Closure

Typhoon Lagoon closed in early September for its annual refurbishment. While the park is offline, Disney's Blizzard Beach water park is open for guests looking to get their water park fix.
