Disney World just unveiled a surprising Star Wars and Halloween crossover for the 2026 season at Disney's Hollywood Studios — and it's not something most guests would have seen coming.

Halloween Is Taking Over Disney World Again

Halloween has grown into one of the biggest seasonal celebrations at Walt Disney World, with decorations, limited-time food, themed merchandise, and special entertainment spreading throughout the resort. Magic Kingdom remains the heart of the action, with Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party transforming the park on select nights. Guests enjoy trick-or-treating, character appearances, special entertainment, attraction changes, and plenty of seasonal surprises.

The park itself gets a full seasonal makeover, too. Fall decorations fill Main Street, U.S.A., and Mickey pumpkins help give Magic Kingdom a completely different feel from its usual daytime atmosphere. Disney also releases a wide range of Halloween merchandise each year, with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Stitch, and villains like Oogie Boogie all getting the spooky treatment.

This year, though, Disney is taking Halloween in a slightly more unexpected direction.

Halloween Hits Hollywood Studios With a Star Wars Twist

A seasonal Star Wars droid figure has arrived at Walt Disney World Resort, and it turns the familiar R2-style design into a tiny werewolf. The Halloween droid — called R2-WRWLF — was spotted for sale at Mickey's of Hollywood inside Disney's Hollywood Studios, priced at $17.99.

Rather than the familiar white-and-blue look associated with R2-D2, R2-WRWLF is covered primarily in brown, complete with little werewolf ears positioned above its head casing. Red plaid details across the body create the look of a shirt, adding another layer to the werewolf costume, and the brown coloring carries all the way down to the wheels to complete the transformation.

The packaging leans fully into the Halloween theme as well. R2-WRWLF appears beneath two full moons for a fittingly spooky backdrop, with Droid Factory branding sitting beneath the character image. The back of the packaging provides additional information about droids and explains the different parts of the figure.

It's an unusual combination — but that may be exactly what makes it stand out.

Disney Is Expanding What Halloween Looks Like

For years, Disney World's Halloween season has been closely associated with Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and familiar characters dressed for the occasion. Disney has gradually pushed beyond that formula, and R2-WRWLF is a great example of how the company can bring Halloween into franchises guests might not immediately connect with the holiday.

Instead of another Mickey pumpkin or Oogie Boogie design, Disney has taken a recognizable Star Wars element and given it a complete seasonal makeover. It also gives Disney's Hollywood Studios its own connection to the Halloween season — because while the park doesn't host Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, guests don't have to travel to Magic Kingdom to find every seasonal addition. For Star Wars fans, a werewolf-inspired droid is certainly one of the stranger ways to celebrate.

More Halloween Additions Are Coming to Disney World

R2-WRWLF is just one piece of a much larger Halloween season across Walt Disney World. Magic Kingdom will once again offer plenty of exclusive experiences during Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, including Stitch taking over Tomorrowland during the event.

Disney will also roll out specialty treats throughout the Halloween season, with limited-time snacks and desserts becoming a major part of the holiday celebrations. Party nights bring even more changes, with several Magic Kingdom attractions receiving ghostly or Halloween-inspired touches that guests won't find during an ordinary park day.

Add in trick-or-treating, seasonal entertainment, characters, costumes, decorations, and nighttime offerings, and Halloween can feel like an entirely different version of Disney World. Now, Hollywood Studios has a little spooky surprise of its own.
